The sequence

1. Three days before due

Subject: Invoice [number] due on [date]

Hi [name],

A quick heads-up that invoice [number] for [amount] is due on [date]. You can pay here: [link].

2. On the due date

Subject: Invoice [number] is due today

Hi [name],

Just a reminder that invoice [number] for [amount] is due today. Here is the link to pay: [link].

If it's already on its way, thank you, and please ignore this.

When it's late

3. Seven days late

Subject: Following up: invoice [number]

Hi [name],

I haven't seen payment for invoice [number] ([amount]), which was due on [date]. Could you let me know when we can expect it?

Pay here: [link]. If there's a problem with the invoice, reply and I'll sort it out.

4. Fourteen days late

Subject: Invoice [number] is now 14 days overdue

Hi [name],

Invoice [number] for [amount] is now 14 days overdue. Please arrange payment by [date + 5 days], or let me know if you'd like to agree a payment plan.

5. Final notice
